One thing is for sure, being in the electronics recycling business you see a wide spectrum of materials to be processed. A lot of people are surprised when they find out that we don't just recycle computers but a wide variety of products. We routinely bring in everything from voting machines to toner cartridges. A lot of customers end up with a lot of left over ink and toner in their store rooms for printers and copiers that they don't even own anymore. We can recycle these as well as used ink and toner cartridges.
For years we have been recycling voting machines after they are deemed outdated. We also destroy voting results data that is left on the machines. Since we dismantle computer equipment by hand at our facility, we deal with all types of metals and ABS plastic. Many times while we are removing computers from a business we will also take old metal filing cabinets and metal chairs. We have even been successful at times reselling the filing cabinets and chairs and thus skipping the recycling process. Reuse is the greatest form of recycling. We can recycle server cabinets and server rails as well because of the metals used to produce them. I can remember at least one hospital where we removed and recycled hundreds of metal hospital beds.
With a name like Computer Crusher you better know how to crush hard drives! Onsite physical hard drive destruction is what we have specialized in now for 10 years. Computer Crusher Recycling actually started out as a hard drive destruction company in 2006. As the hard drives piled up so did the need to responsibly recycle electronics. Our customers wanted to know how to dispose of their computer electronics after their hard drives were destroyed, so we started offering our recycling services in addition to our hard drive destruction services.
Now 10 years later we are a C2 Certified electronics company. We dismantle electronics that have reached their end of life by hand, with a real person ensuring that everything is securely recycled each step of the way. Since our humble beginnings we have always taken the stance that security should come first before recycling computer electronics. One of the ways we do this is by crushing hard drives right before your eyes! We've always felt this was a necessary benefit for our customers when everyone hears so much about data breaches and ID theft. You deserve the right to confidently know that your data is destroyed when you recycle your electronics.
Over the years we have noticed that very few computer recycling companies offer onsite PHYSICAL destruction. Most will promise to wipe or erase them at a later time. When we leave our customer's parking lot the data destruction issue is finished. I have always assumed the reason why computer recycling companies do not offer onsite destruction is because it is too difficult to provide. To solve this issue, we designed and built our own hard drive crushing machines. These platter crushing machines are easily transported, and now equipped in all of our vehicles. With this equipment we're able to destroy anything from two hard drives for a doctor's office to 1600+ drives for a major IT Department. You should insist that your data is properly destroyed before having someone dispose of your electronics. Call us first and don't take a chance!
Computer Crusher Recycling, LLC is very proud to announce that as of August 8th, 2013, we have achieved C2 certification, Control #2013034, ID #10032, from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. We have been preparing for this audit since November of 2011. What does C2 compliance mean? We are now recognized by the TCEQ as being in full compliance with all environmental and security processes that the TCEQ has set forth for electronic recyclers. During the site visit and full audit by the TCEQ our paperwork, processes as well as any downstream vendors were thoroughly checked and verified to meet TCEQ compliance criteria. In particular, how your equipment is handled, tracked, and processed once it arrives at our facility is closely verified through the audit process.
We are proud that we pioneered onsite physical data destruction in the computer electronics industry. We truly appreciate your ongoing trust in Computer Crusher Recycling to process your computer electronics in the most secure and environmentally sound processes. We now have the certified credentials to backup our continued efforts to provide you with exceptional computer electronics recycling.
